whose was it?

tuesday's the first day of class for me, and i like to dress up on the first days of the week, to boost my spirit, so i wont feel all gloomy for the rest of the weekdays! no monday's blues for me, no. i never got anyone to take my picture today, hence please bear with these crappy ones.

printed tunic top from h&m europe; high waisted skirt from f21; vintage belt, mum's? or dad's? from giordano, from more than 20 years ago; random necklaces stringed together; wooden wedges from carlo rino

i love this belt, the tan colour, the length that's a perfect fit for a higher waist, and especially the chapped part on its third loop. all signs of wear and tear adds the perfect finishing touch.

today, in particular, is -- i say IS cuz it is now 6.20pm, it still is tuesday -- a very pleasant day. i woke up with a light step and on the right side of bed (figuratively), walked back from uni with a bunch of friends accompanied by a cool breeze, and i received a surprise present from rita. although my 21st birthday's still 2 weeks away! sho shweeet of you rita, i cant restrain from constantly flashing my pearly whites upon receiving these inspirational magnetic bookmarks *hugs*

bytheway, recently drooled-over blog: blushing ambition

she appreciates that she is so blessed to have such lovely friends. love u guys so much :)

distractions for a busy brain

from my archives

emma by jane austen; what fascinated me was the vintage-looking cover of the book, and the fact that it is "complete and unabridged" -- i duno how much probability of it being true -- but was also that it's only rm19.90. grabbed it right away. too much authorship and writing with andrew made me want to read it even more.

herbal tea eggs; he wanted to try it out, so no harm done in doing exactly that. yumyums, a success!

forever21 skirts.vests.entire outfits; from forever21.com. it's my favourite store after-all, nuff said. i want that vest since i first saw it last month in penang. and i m still thinking of it. i think i should :)

multitasking

i dont fancy pink, that as a fact, but i totally love this face shop nail polish shade. it's a little ambiguous, a little bronze, not pink pink. i initially wanted to paint my fingers dark shimmery purple, but it looked too witch-y to me.

and while i m posting this, i am both practicing my public relations presentation speech for tomorrow, playing tiki resort on facebook, gathering information about co-orientation model of communication, browsing lookbook, and of course, blogging. hmm we girls are born to multitask, right?

she crosses her painted fingers wishing for good luck tomorrow.

minimalist

"men's v-neck tee from jefferson; straight cut jeans from p&co, green suede platform wedges from vincci, necklace from f21, ivory ring from bali, random bracelet which i bought only for rm3 few years back"

thanks michele for the first 2 pics
:)

with a basic white tee and jeans, the only difference with looking sloppy and done is the accessories. for me, it's the necklaces and the rings. and, the shoes. i survived the whole 7 minutes walk (each) to and from uni in these 4 inch wedge, and i felt like i have conquered mount everest. i might be the shallowest girl ever, but i felt good in heels (wedges) that high. heh.

anyway, i'm not myself if i dont find something off fashion/streetstyle blogs that i like.

zoo negara since 1963

so we went to zoo negara (national zoo)! it was such a beautiful day, sunny but not too hot. we packed tuna sandwiches as lunch and made our way to ampang. in all my 21 years of life i have never been to zoo negara, and i call myself a malaysian. heh

anyways, there was so much to see! siamangs, baboons with their butt exposed, an attention-seeking chimpanzee that poses for the camera, obese orang utan looking like it's paralyzed, hornbills, cute little leopard cat sleeping, sleeping sun bears, baby cougar, adult cougars, sleeping cheetah, black swans, white swans, storks, flamingos, elephants that throw sand and water at people, cuddly fuzzly rabbits, a quite unhappy-looking pony with very coarse mane, beautiful zebras, galloping antelopes, ostriches that ran helter-skelter when chased (scaredy-cats), graceful giraffes, and phenomenally pretty butterflies!

so, let these pictures portray our very nature-friendly and healthy day-out.

i like this accidental out-of-focus effect, it makes the picture look so much more romantic

some of my favourite shots from butterfly garden;

black swans are so rare! i like them, they look cooler and more exotic than their white counterparts

isnt this giraffe elegant and graceful? it's a Him. he was coming over to protect his child as one visitor tried to feed it grass. good parent.

siamang!

these storks actually got closer to me than this distance, but some nuisance of a kid came and shooed them away.

and with that our visit to zoo negara ended, with a very amusing multi animal performance show. the show was quite entertaining and i liked the african sea lion, dombi in particular, such a character! but if they presented it in english instead of malay, it would be perfect cuz there were foreigners who just looked lost.
