just had the most relaxing weekend ever, although part of me is still stressed out for my thesis, but at least i got to hang out with my family and loved ones for the past 3 days. mum, dad sis and him came over to attend the scholarship and award ceremony and we all stayed over at kl plaza, chilled and did some shopping. the ceremony was really quick and painless and we headed off to lunch after lounging around in the honours office for quite a while. it was mum's, dad's and his first - and probably the last - time in monash after so many years so a family picture was definitely necessary.

also, we finally set foot at the new h&m store at lot10, it was packed! we all had so much fun (and hauls!) but it would be a much better experience if the place was better organized, seeing the shoes all strewn around the shoe wall and people trampling all over the sandals and wedges, i lost appetite. but the clothes were amazing, mum bought me a jade green lace dress that i absolutely love!

okay, back to organizing my thesis now, reluctantly. the plan at the moment, is to pull an all-nighter on getting the 3000+ words of this chapter done.

something new, something old

bought this amazing laser cutout cropped top from Simplicité the other day, it fits like a glove! i usually move away from the color pink, and was ready to get the one in teal green but i figured to step out of my comfort zone and got this instead. Simplicité is new but they have some really nice stuff, why not drop by and pick out a few babies to complete your wardrobe!

in other news, i have been diligently documenting what i have been wearing the past week. quite keen on the idea of starting a fashion blog with my sister, but nothing has been set in stone yet, so...we'll see.

had buka puasa dinner with kinta at capricciosa last week. the spaghetti with eggplant and spinach in meat sauce is awesome! so is kinta's spaghetti carbonara!

this past monday - mon wei helped me curl my hair and i love the outcome :)

right, i hope the number of pictures today compensates for my lack of updates. thesis work has been taking over my life. as well as project runway marathons.

a few weeks ago, my 6 year old acer aspire died on me, and dad sent it to the tech place to get it checked out in the attempt to resuscitate it, but to no avail. apparently the motherboard gave up living and there was no point in getting it fixed, said the technician, who suggested that it is better if i get a new lappie. been wanting to get something lightweight but with no compromise in performance, and set eyes on a mac. the Switch and Machines stores were having a discount on e.o.l macs (rm3399 for a 13inch macbook air!) and best yet, they were giving out rm600 vouchers if you buy an e.o.l product from them. so we thought that we could use the additional 600bucks to get office for mac, but there were no stocks left for 13in airs at the stores we went to (apparently people would rather get a macbook pro?) BUT there was one (and only one) unit available for the new 13in air which just arrived on that day itself, the flip side was the rm600 voucher does not apply for new products. nevertheless, mum and dad got it for me since i will be needing a lappie to get work done - thanks mum, thanks dad :) i have since been addicted to photo booth and iPhoto, which explains the three photo booth photos below, edited with the iPhoto app! and can i say, the iPhoto app is amazeballs! although i would probably still want to install photoshop.

have not been taking much photos lately -- thanks to the utterly forgetful side of me to leave my memory card in sunway while my camera is in penang, and the perpetually lazy side of me to never lug my camera along -- but this means my phone camera is given the chance to be of service. with much needed help from photoshop, there you go.

i am gonna show you what i wore to uni on wednesday just 'cause i have trouble digesting readings and focusing on actually trying to understand them. so, here it is, an orange giraffe on my t-shirt, with a purple flouncy skirt that is so light it literally dances in the wind. had to hold down the sides when walking to uni/walking down stairs, you know, just in case.

we live to eat, it was a feast

at any celebratory dinner the chinese way, weddings, or birthdays, there is always the traditional 8 course meal menu. and on ah ma's 81st birthday, it was no exception. it was all about food, and catching up with the paternal side of the family. it was the ong family tradition, but this year it was different, he went as well! hehe

i am still alive

and kicking, in fact. but not for long. because i still have an ethics report due this coming wednesday. late nights are my best friends now. but after handing in my public relations proposal this afternoon, at least a portion of the burden has been thrown off my shoulders.

anyway, today i got the pictures that yujia took last week in italiannies! there were lots of pictures of us, unlike mine that consisted mainly of food and random stuffs. it was not my first time there, but one wonders why is it so that when you are with your bunch of best friends, everything seems so new and interesting? like the mural painting, we took turns posing before it hehe

she's gonna hit the sack early tonight, and hopefully wake up earlier tomorrow morning to start working on that ethics report. night all!

brighten up

i have been feeling rather unwell the past 2 days due to the changing weather here at sunway and at home in penang. this second it's hot like an oven but it rains cats and dogs the next, then all of a sudden the rain stops and the sun shines like it had never shone before. so, yea, my nose and throat suffered, and i too. what better excuse to wear a bright-coloured, whimsical-print top with my prized possessions than the excuse (except that it's not just an excuse) of feeling unwell?

took all these pictures with dad's d60 in exchange for the d90, and since they're all pretty random stuff, here's another picture that i love, for no reason at all. maybe it's the colour combination of the gourd and the dried-out pandan leaves against my study table.

oh, and i did fairly well on the authorship essay, i didnt fail and flop, that is. and i thank andrew for having to go through all the trouble of scrutinizing every comma and full-stop for errors, and for all the wacky commentaries he made on every single page.
