(after frolicking around seminyak beach, the driver took us to tanah lot, where its sacred temple stood solitary atop a cliff not far from the mainland. the day we went was a low tide day so we could see pilgrims taking the many flights of stairs towards the temple. whenever it's high-tide days, the sea water would fill in the gaps of the rocks, up till the point that even the route we were walking on would be completely flooded.)
(walking up to the highest point of the cliff opposite the temple was one scary experience! the route was narrow with no solid steps or railings, and with one wrong step you take, you would be tumbling all the way down into the deep hell of an ocean below.)
this is the closest to the end of the cliff that i dared to go :S
201002251327the weather is super hot today! the straw hat i bought at a local store came in handy when we went to the 5-mins-walk-away-from-our-hotel beach this morning, and also to visit tanah lot's temple on the cliffs. it was scorching hot, even under the protection of such a big straw hat i could still feel its menacing rays on me, to the point that the sides of my soles felt like they were on fire. nonetheless the scenery was breathtaking. i just could not resist taking landscapes of the clear sapphire blue sky, lush greenish proliferation, cocoa-coloured rocks and cliffs, from every possible angle to retain what my eyes could see each second in pictures.

beautiful waves at tanah lot
(after what seemed like miles and miles of walking and "sun-bathing", we went for lunch in one of their restaurants. their service was...no comment, and their food was average, but their club sandwich with bacons, sliced boiled eggs and et cetera et cetera in it, was so good, we ordered another one after chowing down the first one!)
