sweet things

because simin was craving for strawberry custard tart, we went on a mission to hunt for it at practically every dessert/confectionery place at pyramid after my class, but to no avail. meh, "why is it so hard to find such a simple little dessert in a sprawling place" was her ongoing complain. and so we settled for a runny but beautifully bitter tiramisu in a glass and a strawberry pavlova at delicious. still, it could- and did- not replace her intense craving for a strawberry custard tart.

i also satisfied my craving for a sleeved skater dress and new accessories. i do have to show you guys the dress someday, in the meantime do say hi to this new guy here, whom i've decided to name Quirkee whilst he was in the process of modeling for me (hi quirkee). i am sure he would fit in perfectly fine with his other owl friends in my wardrobe/jewellery box.

oh and we met yujia! i have missed her so much :)

my weekend

consisted of developing a perpetual craving for sweet anythings and everythings, and stalking/trying to communicate with a black cat under a lorry who stares back intensely with his/her piercing golden eyes. ah and also perfecting my slides for an article presentation in class tomorrow.

i am gonna show you what i wore to uni on wednesday just 'cause i have trouble digesting readings and focusing on actually trying to understand them. so, here it is, an orange giraffe on my t-shirt, with a purple flouncy skirt that is so light it literally dances in the wind. had to hold down the sides when walking to uni/walking down stairs, you know, just in case.

week 3 of school has just begun to end (?). okay my first sentence indicates high level of stress stemming from the demands of honours year. spent today researching, meeting up with my supervisor, more researching, eating lunch at 4.30pm and dinner at -- oh, okay -- and attempting to water marble my nails whilst reading an article on how to undertake qualitative research on the internet. and taking pauses in between to rest my over-saturated brain by swooning over sweater and pleated skirts from the n21 2012prefall collection and contemplating on whether i should get that gold cuff. i have thin wrists so it is almost impossible to get a cuff to stay put, but this has chains connecting the gap...that kinda explains my obsession with it. oh and forever21 at sunway pyramid is having massive sales on sweaters -- rm40 for a sweater with lace panelling? score.

to prove that i am still alive and well -- albeit busy with thesis research -- i shall leave you to swoon over these cuddleworthy pictures of lengzai and lenglui taken at home before i transported myself here to kl. enjoy !

today,

i got back my renewed student ID and the 2012 student diary (loving the bokeh-ed lights in the cover pic).

i started reading 'Tis: A memoir by Frank McCourt and loved his sense of humour -- he seems to write continuously without filtering the thoughts that fleet through his mind and i think that is awesome.

oh, and i also painted my nails in my favourite colour in a reverse french/half moon manicure. i first saw it on the cherry blossom girl and loved it to bits. i followed her tutorial but skipped the drying drops step as well as letting my base colour sit overnight (yes, i started painting them last night) to ensure that the base dries completely before sticking on the paper reinforcers and doing the top colour. there's still kinks in some places but i'm sure practice makes perfect. 

now back to marathon-ing on glee season 3 and being caught up in all their emotions. they make me cry one second and laugh my ass off in another. i love them.

currently obsessed over soft fabrics and vibrant colours/prints. i would love to wear that bright yellow poofy skirt (those are miu mius for heaven's sake) under bethany's jacket (armani exchange x lookbook) or miroslava duma's varsity jacket with yellow sleeves, and just a simple white slouchy tank in between it all. 

or the jackets with that orange outfit in its entirety. and a splash of pastels on the nails to tone down the look or a hint of glitter just to amp it up some more. i found the perfect pastel blue nail polish today at thefaceshop and cant wait to put them on.

on another note, my honours year starts this coming tuesday, i still have no idea what to expect from a whole new lecturing-researching regime, but we'll see.
