somewhere over the rainbow

attended mr benjamin's memorial service today at noon in uni. it was so heart-warming, seeing his mother talking about his childhood as well as getting to know him more through the speeches of the other lecturers; his fave song was somewhere over the rainbow; he was a cheeky kid, is witty, funny, and passionate about what he does. they played this song at the very end of the service, and it felt as though he is still here with us. tear-jerking.

somewhere over the rainbow
skies are blue

and the dreams that you dare to dream
really do come true

someday i'll wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are far

behind me

where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops

there's where you'll find me

she remembers her childhood toy, this music player thingie with all the vibrant colours of the rainbow. it has a little swtich that plays this song after it's been turned clockwise. and there was an image scroller that displays beautiful drawings of a rainbow, clouds, stars and a little girl in it. fond moments dont last long, but beautiful memories will forever be etched deep within one's soul.
